Algerian Oak Pedestal Table
Spanish 16th Century inspired Algerian Oak Pedestal Table, single slab top construction. The timber for this table was recovered from Mt Macedon in the 1982 Ash Wednesday bushfires.
The tree was pulled out of the ground by the firestorm and transported 500m away from its original planted spot. The colour you see is the natural colour of the timber with only a wax finish.
Algerian Oak (Quercus Canariensis) is an evergreen oak tree that is very ornamental and not normally cut down for timber, making this table extremely unique and a rarity. Çompletely handmade by Orio Randi.
